Registrar/Accountant

Title: Registrar/Accountant – Part Time

Department: Accounting
Reports to: Controller

Description: The Registrar/Accountant position is part-time with a flexible work schedule. The ideal candidate will manage both the registration process and accounts payable in their entirety. This position requires the individual to be able to work on-site 4-5 hours per day but provides flexibility in scheduling. The registrar will have the opportunity to learn the dynamics between the registration lifecycle and internal accounting processes. The successful management of this relationship enables timely and accurate financial analysis and ultimately influences the depth and nature of reporting to the organization.
 
Requirements:  In this role, the Part Time Bookkeeper/Registrar assists the Accounting and Operations Teams and provides support by:

  • Processing registrations promptly and thoroughly, ensuring all student data has been captured in Salesforce;
  • Providing follow up inquiries from and to students via phone and email regarding registrations;
  • Annotating key points from student communications in Salesforce;
  • Collecting payments from students and administering payment plans;
  • Resolving the needs or questions of “walk-in” students through face-to-face interaction;
  • Performing daily Accounts Payable entry in Peachtree and preparing the payables report on a weekly basis;
  • Managing the Accounts Receivable to include issuing invoices, recording cash receipts, and collecting aged receivables;
  • Assisting with month-end reconciliation reports;
  • Providing administrative support such as scanning and filing documents; and
  • Communicating with candor and transparency.
Qualifications:  
  • Education or relevant experience working 2-3 years in an accounting, finance, or bookkeeping field.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to effectively multi-task concurrent priorities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students and demonstrate diplomacy and problem resolution skills.
  • Hardworking and able to self-manage, take initiative, and be accountable to meeting deadlines.
  • Accepting of feedback and failure, with a constant focus on continuous learning and improvement
