Access Emerging Cyber Talent.
At UMBC Training Centers we offer a one-year Cyber Apprenticeship program which combines on-the-job experience (provided by an employer) with related technical instruction (provided by UMBC Training Centers). Through this program, employers can partner with UMBC Training Centers and gain access to emerging technical talent. Partnership in this program allows your organization to interview and employ registered cyber apprentices to fill in-demand cybersecurity roles at your organization.
Why Become A Registered Apprenticeship Employer Partner?
Simply put, Registered Apprenticeship makes business sense. As an employer, there are a number of reasons that make apprenticeship a beneficial component of your business strategy:
- Grow your workforce: By employing registered apprentices you access a non-traditional talent pool of technically skilled workers for your organization.
- Reduce turnover costs: Employers of registered apprentices report an impressive retention rate of the apprentices they hire.
- Increase productivity: Apprentices are committed to growing their careers as evident by their decision to work and learn simultaneously. This evidence is further backed by the U.S. Department of Labor reports that employers receive $1.47 back in increased productivity for every dollar invested in apprenticeship.
- Unlock tax credits and other state-sponsored financial assistance: Maryland is committed to offering businesses the financial support necessary to build a qualified workforce for in-demand industries.
It’s a really great thing that UMBC Training Centers is doing with the apprenticeship program because it allows companies to take someone that has a certain baseline level of knowledge and then really help tailor them to the culture, environment and needs of the company.
