Common PMP® Certification Questions
Is the PMP® exam difficult?
It definitely can be! Any certification, especially an advanced certification such as the PMP®, can be difficult if candidates are not properly prepared. Proper preparedness includes understanding and being able to apply the exam material, as well as being comfortable in a testing environment. We design our classes to address both needs so that students have the best chance possible to pass on their first attempt.
Is getting the PMP® certification worth it?
In most cases, yes! The PMP® certification is often a requirement for many Project Management positions and it’s known to help applicants secure a higher salary for these jobs as well when compared to their non-certified peers. There’s also an added respect among colleagues that comes with earning your PMP®. No matter your motivation for earning the PMP® certification, there’s a good reason to attain it.
Can you pass the PMP® exam without experience?
You can’t even qualify for taking the PMP® exam without some experience. Depending on your educational background, you’ll be required to show a certain number of months of experience leading projects within the past eight years; however, this isn’t as hard as it may sound. Have you ever planned a wedding or managed a home improvement project such as building a deck or renovating a kitchen? These are all projects, and if you actively managed them, they count toward your experience requirements.
How do you become eligible for the PMP® certification?
To be eligible for the PMP® certification, you must first meet specific education/training and on-the-job experience requirements, as well as agree to adhere to a code of professional conduct. The education/training requirements will be fulfilled by successfully completing our course, but the experience requirements are extensive and can be referenced more specifically on the PMI® website (How to Apply for the PMP®). The final step in becoming a PMP® credential holder is passing a multiple-choice exam designed to objectively assess and measure your project management knowledge.
